The Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment will host Rear Admiral Henning Faltin, the EU Defense Attaché to the U.S. and Canada, who will deliver a keynote speech, “A ‘Strategic Compass’ for Security and Defense: the European Union as a Global Security Actor.”

Rear Admiral Faltin will address the main policies and operational activities of the European Union’s External Action Service, with special emphasis on the security situation in Ukraine, in the Sahel region, and in the Middle East. He will present the opportunities and challenges for the European Union as a global security actor. In this context, he will discuss prospects from a military point of view for an even deeper transatlantic cooperation between the U.S. and the EU as well as between the EU and NATO.
