Shahzoda Samarqandi, a Tajik novelist, poet, and journalist from Uzbekistan, has drawn praise from Persian and Russian critics and readers for her intense visions of ecocide, imperial collapse, and fundamentalism in modern Eurasia. She will discuss her works at a Persian-language webinar with Homeira Qaderi, the MacMillan Center writer in residence. Together, they will consider the state of Persian literary prose in Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Iran.
